Seattle Campus Shooting, 6 Shot (video)

Was it proving his masculinity or subjugating her femininity, what drives a mass shooter?
Police State coming: Seattle versus World Trade Organization (freedomsphoenix.com)
Five percent or more of police are predators, according to a former San Diego police chief. How many more are sociopaths? When ununiformed criminals are induced, coached, and triggered, mayhem ensues. Police are deployed. We are locked down. Whole cities are put under martial law. The police rush in with orders to shoot anyone they see for our "protection." That's the plan. With protection like that, who needs a "lone gunman"/MC? The planners! (Occupy, Battle-of-Seattle, fromthevaultradio.org).

Multiple people were left wounded after a shooting this afternoon at Seattle Pacific University. The Seattle PD warned that they are dealing with conflicting reports, but confirmed at least three people were injured and transported to a local hospital. Other news outlets are reporting as many as six victims were hospitalized. Although there were reports that two people were arrested, police now say they only have one suspect in custody. According to the AP, police say they have stopped searching for a second gunman, who was described as a white male wearing a long-sleeved blue shirt. According to KIRO 7, the suspect's car was registered to the parent of a Seattle Pacific University student. Students told reporters they initially thought the gunshots were a science experiment until the school went into lockdown.

1 man dies, 5 others injured in Seattle college shooting

A man in his 20s died and at least three others were hospitalized after a shooting inside an engineering building on the campus of Seattle Pacific University [SPU, a Christian school] on Thursday [June 5, 2014] afternoon [about 3:00 pm], authorities said.

A suspect was in custody. Seattle police had initially sought a second suspect [who was part of the false flag operation before they were keyed in and told to say there was only one shooter, the lone gunman, and we venture to guess it will be a white young man on antidepressants with a history of loving guns and not talking to his neighbors with a connection to psychiatric studies either through the military, the university, or Hollywood], but later said the person in custody was the only shooter.

As many as six people were injured, according to the Seattle Fire Department. One woman suffered life-threatening injuries. Two men suffered minor injuries and were in stable condition.

Many students reported that the gunshots -- heard throughout the building -- sounded like a science experiment, maybe a helium balloon popping.

But when a student in Room 136 in Otto Miller Hall went into the hallway to doublecheck, she quickly came back and offered a terse statement, "I think someone got shot," according to Blake Oliveira, who was inside the classroom... More

1 Dead, 3 Wounded In Shooting at Seattle College Campus
One person has died in the campus shooting at Seattle Pacific University, according to Susan Gregg, a spokeswoman for Harborview Medical Center. [Original story published at 8:11 pm ET and labelled June 6 world time] A gunman opened fired Thursday [June 5 local time] at Seattle Pacific [Christian] University, wounding four people before faculty and staff disarmed him, the Seattle Police Department said. The gunman was reloading when the staff stopped him, police reported on the department's official Twitter account. The accused shooter, whose identity was not immediately released, is in custody, and no outstanding suspects are being sought, police said At least two people -- one man and one woman -- suffered life-threatening injuries, police said. Another man and woman were in stable condition, they said. The shooting began inside Otto Miller Hall, which houses the university's science, math and engineering departments. Witness Briana Clarke told CNN affiliate KOMO she was in Otto Miller Hall when she heard shots and then saw students running. "I first heard two muffled shots that I thought were two helium balloons," she said. Then she said she saw between five and seven students who appeared to be injured. The school was locked down during the shooting, and it was lifted after police cleared all the buildings on the campus. "I'm in my office with four students with the blinds closed. We're sitting on the floor with the door locked, very scared," university counselor Karen Altus told KOMO. Seattle Pacific is a Christian university with a student population of 4,270. It is located in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood.

(ABC 7 Eyewitness News) Breaking news, Seattle Pacific University school shooting with multiple suspects converted into "a lone gunman" now in custody.

Guns, sexism, and killing (cartoons)

Pat Macpherson, Seth Auberon, Wisdom Quarterly; Tom Tomorrow (thismodernworld.com)
Maybe it's women. Maybe it's men. Maybe it's guns. Maybe it's Republican men with guns who hate women. And maybe it's unresolved mental issues in the psyche of post-slavery America.
Exploit the incident in Tucson, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Sandy Hook, Boston...?
Maybe the "solution" is to kill more people? *Irony* Because mass shooters, who shoot themselves (as programmed) after their shooting spree, would think twice about shooting anybody if they knew we would kill them. Uh, wait. Joe Blow McCain makes so much sense when he talks to Hillary about Ukraine, Benghazi, and golf, and POWs, and Big Government.

Women, gun laws intersect in Santa Barbara

University students gather near Royce Hall at UCLA to pay tribute to the Isla Vista victims during a candlelight vigil Monday made front page of LA Times (Wally Skalij/latimes.com).

Misogyny and Gun Laws, Isla Vista
A mass killing in the Santa Barbara County town of Isla Vista on Friday resulted in seven people dead, including the suspected perpetrator, and 13 injured.

Twenty-two year old Elliot Rodger, a privileged young man of half-Anglo, half-Chinese descent, is alleged to have stabbed his three male roommates and then turned to a sorority on the UC Santa Barbara campus.
  • For a "misogynist gun spree" there sure were a lot of male victims, stabbing deaths, and car injuries. But never mind that! We must focus on guns. Guns are the problem. This doesn't happen in China. In China mass murderers use knives. Is Rodger a new Candy Jones, another Monarch Butterfly?
Guns don't kill people. It's mostly the bullets.
There he killed another young man and two women. Rodger also struck several people with his car as he drove around Isla Vista shooting at people before ending his own life [the planned containment of all programmed shooters]. Shortly before his killing spree, Rodger posted a 137-page document detailing his life story and his motivation for the killings, as well a seven-minute YouTube video.
Rodger’s mother warned authorities about him after he began posting disturbing video earlier this year. But the young man managed to convince police that there was no reason to detain him.

Elliot Rodger has been linked with the so-called “Men’s Rights” movement. In his video and written “manifesto” he lamented being constantly sexually rejected by the white blonde women he was attracted to, and he resented men who enjoyed popularity with women.

The killings have also prompted New York’s [opportunistic] Republican Congressman Peter King to call for enhanced background checks for gun sales. Richard Martinez, the grieving father of Christopher Michael-Martinez, who was among those murdered, made an impassioned plea at a press conference. More

Commentary
General editorial consensus, Wisdom Quarterly
You a woman? (damnhangover.com)
Wait. Is Wisdom Quarterly opposed to guns or not? Opposed. We are opposed to ALL guns. But we are NOT anti-gun advocates.

Why, if you oppose all guns, are you not anti-gun?

When we as Americans finally advocate that guns be taken out of the hands of militant killers (police) and government agents (soldiers), we will say "no more guns." The anti-gun lobby, however, is part of the police state -- unwittingly so -- because all it asks for or demands in the wake of these very predictable incidents is that they be mandated out of the hands of citizens. What should be put in their place? "Give them more psych meds" seems to be the implicit answer. Dr. Drew (LovelineShow.com, May 27, 2014) was advocating forced institutionalization and forced drugging of anyone a psychiatrist says needs it. Is that the world we want? Should we bring back personality-numbing electroshock-therapy now in the nicer chemical guise?

"I do not perform for gender" (TOI)
Citizens are not the main problem. Authorized-criminals in uniforms and undercover are the main problem. Let's do something about that instead of using every sensationalized and possibly set up situation as the pretext to launch social media campaigns ("I'm a radical, I'm on Facebook!"), "hashtag activism," and Democratic gun-control drives. Look at Canada: full of guns and no where near the problem of anyone getting shot. Why? It's not the guns.

Misogyny (hating women) is a problem. Let's address that, not as the violent aberration of a young mental health patient but as the everyday garden variety violence of mostly "well adjusted" men and lots of women. When someone says or does something as outrageous as Rodger, it is said people rush to say, "Not all men." And that's true. But you know what? Yes all women. The oppression that is part and parcel of our society affects ALL females all day long, even jerks gems like Sarah "Caribou Barbie" Palin and FOX News' Ann Coulter, who contribute to the problem and oppression rather than advocating any viable solution.

SlutWalks across the USA and world
What are we doing in our daily lives? You don't have to be a Ukrainian FEMEN sextremist or Russian Pussy Rioter or Indian anti-rape bus striker (do you want a death penalty for rape out of revenge that replaces actually addressing the systemic problem?) or topped/topless American "SlutWalk" ("We know you aren't him") participant to do something. Male ally Hugo Schwyzer was no ally. There is a lot we can do, all women and all male allies.

Christian terrorist: 7 dead near UCSB (video)

What is at the root of our Judeo-Christian sexism? Porn, shame, Sharia law? (alarbiya.net)

(ORIGINAL VIDEO, from FurioHerovito, REMOVED. Replaced with "crazy Prozac/Zoloft eyes."

Christian terrorist [Elliot Rodger?] talks about his planned rampage against humanity and women in particular for not paying enough attention to him as his God intended. Is God's gift to women working for the CIA's Boko Haram American chapter to keep females out of college, or is he just blowing off steam after watching cartoons and playing first-person-shooter video games and eating aspartame, processed foods, sugar, and corn syrup?

Christian terrorist kills, injures from car (UCSB)
Investigators are studying YouTube video after family warned police about alarming videos being made by possibly brainwashed Christian terrorist assassin. Was it made to prove all guns need to be remove from citizens? Was he on pharmaceutical antidepressants, too?

C'mon, man, we're just cartoons.
A drive-by shooter went on a nighttime rampage near the campus of the University of California at Santa Barbara [home of the biggest parties in Isla Vista, which has become a police state that will only take this tragedy as use it to amp up surveillance, policing, mass arrests, and police brutality in the name of "security"] that left seven people dead, including the attacker, and seven others wounded, authorities said Saturday.

Don't shoot! (yogasoup.com)
The gunman got into two gun battles with deputies Friday night in the beachside community of Isla Vista before crashing his black BMW into a parked car, Santa Barbara County Sheriff Bill Brown said.

Deputies found him dead with a gunshot wound to the head, but it wasn't immediately clear whether he was killed by gunfire or if he committed suicide, he said.

A semi-automatic handgun was recovered from the scene near the University of California, Santa Barbara. Investigators know the gunman's name [Elliot Rodger? as suggested by the title of the video above], but Brown said he couldn't release it pending notification of relatives.

"We're analyzing both written and videotaped evidence that suggests that this atrocity was a premeditated mass murder," Brown said.

Investigators study video following deadly drive-by shootings
A disturbing YouTube video posted that shows a young man describing plans to shoot women appears to be connected to the attack, police said. Officials would not say whether the person in the video was a suspect in the shooting. [It's probably another guy talking about shooting women.]

In the video, posted Friday, the man sits in a black car and looks at the camera, laughing often, and says he is going to take his revenge against humanity.

He describes loneliness and frustration because "girls have never been attracted to me," and says, at age 22, he is still a virgin. The video, which is almost seven minutes long, appears scripted. The identity of the person in the video could not be independently confirmed.

The shootings started around 9:30 pm in Isla Vista, a roughly half-square mile community next to UC Santa Barbara's campus and picturesque beachside cliffs. More + Updates

Is domestic violence kind of SEXY? (cartoon)

Ashley Wells, Seth Auberon, Irma Quintero, Wisdom Quarterly; Mia De Graaf (Daily Mail)

Vogue is being blasted.

Is the fashion magazine "trivializing domestic abuse" in violence-themed edition that teams beaten-up and bloodied models with haute couture (high fashion)?

Female editor Franca Sozzani is unapologetic. She claims it is a political statement against domestic abuse. But outraged Twitter users blast the images as "unacceptable" and "repulsive."

Outrage: This image of a woman bleeding and strewn across the floor in Vogue Italia has enraged readers
Woman bleeding and strewn across floor
[First it was "heroin chic," now this. What next? Demeaning and expensive clothes and shoes? Tasteless jokes? "What do you tell a woman with two black eyes? Nothing, you already..." Hey, you can't publish that punchline! All right, just saying. I mean, what next?]

Vogue Italia has sparked international outrage after publishing slick photos of a "beaten-up" model. The image, in this month's edition, was an attempt at making a statement calling attention to all-too-common violence, the publication is claiming.

I'd rather be on the cover of Vogue
But critics have blasted the fashion shoot for "glamorizing" violence against women. The photograph shows a redheaded model in a Prada dress sprawled upside down at the bottom of a flight of stairs, blood streaming into her hair, as a blood-splattered man looks on from an armchair.

Other images in the violence-themed edition show a girl in a Prada dress screaming as a man approaches her with blood on his hands.

A balaclava makes one Pussy Riot
Another girl hides in a cupboard, with a man leaning over brandishing shears. And in one, the model looks petrified crouching under the stairs as a man descends.

Outraged Twitter users [twits?] attacked the fashion shoot as being in "poor taste." More

It is a day full of breaking stories in Crimea (Ukraine or Russia). Pres. Vlad the Invader Putin is pleasing the crowds in the capital of the former-and-future empire. And does anyone remember Iran's gambit to take three American hostages (later to be used as part of a pretext to invade and occupy Tehran, an inevitability according to John Lear)?

The three were imprisoned and tortured (by extended solitary confinement as defined by the international community as literal "torture" despite the U.S. doing the same and worse to its prisoners on a regular basis) then sold back to the U.S. for a $1.5 million ransom.

Living arguments on gun control (comedy)

    No walk on the beach
I'll kill ya...for pointing that at me
The sun had already started setting by the time a former girlfriend and I arrived at Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades one night...

We were going to have dinner at nearby Gladstone’s Restaurant, where Sunset Boulevard ends at Pacific Coast Highway, but decided to first grab a blanket from the car and head down to the sand to watch the sun go down...

It was chilly that night, and few people were out there with us, except for one young man who stood just where the sand turned into parking lot, seemingly watching our every move.

(Comedy Central) We the U.S. are the problem, not our guns, as Canada demonstrates.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZkZqRM4934
After a [while] I didn’t really think much of the guy, but I looked around just the same, to see exactly how alone we really were out there.

Looking back over my right shoulder, my eyes scanned the rest of the parking lot, then north, along the sand. That’s when I saw another young man, this one a short distance from us, walking slowly on the beach, not along the surf but toward the parking lot, all while looking intently at the two of us.

    Tea Party Republican Libertarian Na...
He made some motions with his head toward the guy in the parking lot, who by this time was joined by a third man, and those two started making their way into the sand to meet their associate.

Gladstone’s was only about an eighth of a mile away, but it might as well have been miles if we had to run to it in the deep sand in order to get away. By this time, we had finished..., my friend seemingly oblivious to what was going on around us.

(Comedy Central, Daily Show, Part II) John Oliver vows that never again
will a political career end in a senseless act of meaningful legislation.
Let us prevent political suicide in the face of NRA lobbyists.

“C’mon, I think we better go,” I said, grasping the slender neck of the bottle, preparing myself to smash it across one of their heads, if necessary.

“What’s the matter?” she asked before turning around and suddenly realizing that our new friends were actually about to try something.

Guns don't kill people; bullets kill people.
With that, she stood up, faced the three guys and placed her hand inside of her purse, which she then raised up slightly at arm’s length with her other hand. A look of deadly earnestness crossed her face, but she didn’t say a word. They all seemed to understand that my girlfriend was armed with a gun, and, even better, that she at least appeared prepared to use it if need be.

(Comedy Central, Daily Show, Part III) John Oliver: it's pointless for US to
study Australian gun control because the situations are just too similar.

I gathered up our stuff and headed toward the car as she turned toward our potential assailants, never once taking her eyes off of them. They stood there frozen, apparently knowing better than to make any kind of move as we hustled back to the car, got in, and drove away. We never did go to dinner at Gladstone’s. More

    My government killing me
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ZkZqRM4934
Democide is a term revived and redefined by the political scientist R.J. Rummel as the murder of people by their government, including genocide, politicide, and mass murder." He created the term as an extended concept to include forms of government-murder that are not covered by the term "genocide," and it has become accepted among other scholars in spite of the fact that the term democide was defined and used in English more than 40 years earlier by Theodore Abel. In the 20th century democide surpassed war as the leading cause of non-natural death... More

Guns: Are we pro or con?
    Wisdom Quarterly (EDITORIAL)
Like Budai, let's throw away the AKs (CC)
We unanimously agree. Our position on guns is that they should ALL be gotten rid of. We cannot have police, the paramilitary, and military retain firearms and expect that citizens, protesters, and advocates of civil liberties would be safe from these deadly agents, who in the past have done so much to violate the Constitution, our rights, and the laws of the land with tacit approval of the court and manipulated juries. It would be Martial Law and oppression that perhaps is only staved off because the two sides, ordinary second-class citizens versus elites and their soldiers, have guns. So they should have access to the same terrible guns.

Killing is unskillful, unwholesome karma. And what excuses we make for this intentional action will do little to alter the bitter fruit of our deeds. Many are willing to kill -- whether motivated by fear, greed, delusion, or hatred. Because that is the subtle underlying motivation, the harm is there. Rationalizations that it is "self" defense or patriotism or attacking one group to defend another group does not change the personally verifiable fact that when it is being done, one of these for motivations is at work.

Nothing good will come of it when that karma ripens. Yet, there are many people willing to shoot and kill for pay, for pleasure, for peer pressure, or simply not knowing and not understanding karma.

We stand for life and for the right of living beings to live oppression-free. Guns are not the way to life or beneficial karmic results. Say no to guns in the hands of authorities or in the hands of second-class citizens. But when they are in the hands of one, it seems they have to be in the hands of the other. Put the guns down.
