Seattle Campus Shooting, 6 Shot (video)

Was it proving his masculinity or subjugating her femininity, what drives a mass shooter?
Police State coming: Seattle versus World Trade Organization (freedomsphoenix.com)
Five percent or more of police are predators, according to a former San Diego police chief. How many more are sociopaths? When ununiformed criminals are induced, coached, and triggered, mayhem ensues. Police are deployed. We are locked down. Whole cities are put under martial law. The police rush in with orders to shoot anyone they see for our "protection." That's the plan. With protection like that, who needs a "lone gunman"/MC? The planners! (Occupy, Battle-of-Seattle, fromthevaultradio.org).

Multiple people were left wounded after a shooting this afternoon at Seattle Pacific University. The Seattle PD warned that they are dealing with conflicting reports, but confirmed at least three people were injured and transported to a local hospital. Other news outlets are reporting as many as six victims were hospitalized. Although there were reports that two people were arrested, police now say they only have one suspect in custody. According to the AP, police say they have stopped searching for a second gunman, who was described as a white male wearing a long-sleeved blue shirt. According to KIRO 7, the suspect's car was registered to the parent of a Seattle Pacific University student. Students told reporters they initially thought the gunshots were a science experiment until the school went into lockdown.

A man in his 20s died and at least three others were hospitalized after a shooting inside an engineering building on the campus of Seattle Pacific University [SPU, a Christian school] on Thursday [June 5, 2014] afternoon [about 3:00 pm], authorities said.

A suspect was in custody. Seattle police had initially sought a second suspect [who was part of the false flag operation before they were keyed in and told to say there was only one shooter, the lone gunman, and we venture to guess it will be a white young man on antidepressants with a history of loving guns and not talking to his neighbors with a connection to psychiatric studies either through the military, the university, or Hollywood], but later said the person in custody was the only shooter.

As many as six people were injured, according to the Seattle Fire Department. One woman suffered life-threatening injuries. Two men suffered minor injuries and were in stable condition.

Many students reported that the gunshots -- heard throughout the building -- sounded like a science experiment, maybe a helium balloon popping.

But when a student in Room 136 in Otto Miller Hall went into the hallway to doublecheck, she quickly came back and offered a terse statement, "I think someone got shot," according to Blake Oliveira, who was inside the classroom... More

1 Dead, 3 Wounded In Shooting at Seattle College Campus
One person has died in the campus shooting at Seattle Pacific University, according to Susan Gregg, a spokeswoman for Harborview Medical Center. [Original story published at 8:11 pm ET and labelled June 6 world time] A gunman opened fired Thursday [June 5 local time] at Seattle Pacific [Christian] University, wounding four people before faculty and staff disarmed him, the Seattle Police Department said. The gunman was reloading when the staff stopped him, police reported on the department's official Twitter account. The accused shooter, whose identity was not immediately released, is in custody, and no outstanding suspects are being sought, police said At least two people -- one man and one woman -- suffered life-threatening injuries, police said. Another man and woman were in stable condition, they said. The shooting began inside Otto Miller Hall, which houses the university's science, math and engineering departments. Witness Briana Clarke told CNN affiliate KOMO she was in Otto Miller Hall when she heard shots and then saw students running. "I first heard two muffled shots that I thought were two helium balloons," she said. Then she said she saw between five and seven students who appeared to be injured. The school was locked down during the shooting, and it was lifted after police cleared all the buildings on the campus. "I'm in my office with four students with the blinds closed. We're sitting on the floor with the door locked, very scared," university counselor Karen Altus told KOMO. Seattle Pacific is a Christian university with a student population of 4,270. It is located in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood.

Thousands commemorated the 99th anniversary (2014) of the Armenian genocide on Thursday, with several high-profile events scheduled across Southern California. The observances come just days after Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan offered condolences to Armenian descendants of the massacre -- an atrocity that Turkey still refuses to describe as a "genocide."

(youngarmenians.com)
Roughly 1.5 million Armenians were killed starting in 1915 amid the chaotic collapse of the Ottoman Empire. With among the largest Armenian diasporas in the world, Glendale and East Hollywood will host a number of events Thursday, including a rally expected to draws thousands to Hollywood Blvd. in Little Armenia. A separate demonstration is planned for outside the Turkish consulate on Wilshire Blvd. in L.A., where the prime minister’s recent comment will likely be a hot topic. “We do not see this as being something that is an adequate and appropriate acceptance of responsibility for the international crime that had been committed,” Berdj Karapetian, chairman of the Glendale chapter of the Armenian National Committee of America, told the Glendale News-Press in response to Erdogan’s comments. That Armenian Genocide Thingy
WQ interviewee at NUU
Today, Wednesday April 24th, marks the annual remembrance day for the estimated 1.5 million Armenians who died in the former Ottoman Empire, present day Turkey.

President Obama's official statement for Armenian Remembrance Day did not include the word "genocide" despite his 2008 campaign promise to recognize the deaths of Armenians as such.

"America deserves a leader who speaks truthfully about the Armenian Genocide and responds forcefully to all genocides," Obama said in 2008. "I intend to be that president."

Several California legislators including Rep. Brad Sherman and Rep. Adam Schiff called on Obama to use the word "genocide," but so far the White House has resisted.

Why is using the term genocide still a politically touchy subject?

Is the US concerned about preserving its strategic relationship with Turkey? What would be the political fallout if the president did use it? How is this omission seen by the local Armenian and Turkish communities? LISTEN (17:44)

The first genocide of the 20th century
(PBS) This 2006 television documentary exploring the Ottoman Empire killings of more than 1,000,000 Armenians during World War I was broadcast by most of the 348 PBS affiliate stations on April 17, 2006. Because of the controversial nature of the subject in Turkey, PBS attempted to give both sides a voice and produced a four expert panel discussion to be aired immediately afterwards. However, due to intense lobbying efforts by Armenian groups and some members of Congress, the follow-up panel discussion was cancelled on a third of the stations broadcasting the documentary over concerns of offending human rights groups and the descendants of Armenian Genocide survivors.

Killing on an industrial scale, it occurred in 1915 within the now collapsed Ottoman Empire. More than 1,000,000 innocent people were massacred in the event.

Ottoman-Turk soldiers marched people through the Syria desert, depriving them of food and water with the intention killing them (like U.S. soldiers did to Native Americans). The same soldiers sexually assaulted and raped young Armenian girls. And although the Allied powers of WW I knew what was going on, no substantive help was provided to victims.

Where does Israel, busy working on the Palestinians, stand? With Turkey

Today the Republic of Turkey denies that a "genocide" took place. Only 20 countries officially recognize the event for what it was -- including Italy, France, Canada, and Russia. It is noteworthy that the United States and Israel are not listed among them, even though official documents called it a genocide, and then-U.S. Pres. Ronald Reagan mentioned it in a public address.

"Like the genocide of the [Christian] Armenians before it, and the genocide of the [Buddhist] Cambodians which followed it -- and like too many other such persecutions of too many other peoples -- the lessons of the [Jewish] Holocaust must never be forgotten..." Pres. R. Reagan

Nowadays a massively popular California Armenian-American rock band does more to spread the word than practically any other source. System of a Down is widely known for songs expressing their views on the Armenian Genocide and the criminal U.S. "war" on terror.

Who cares about truth when business with Turkey is at stake?

In a statement, lead vocalist Serj Tankian has said:

Filipino gun club
Filipino gun culture has deep roots
"The constant, ridiculous denial of the Armenian Genocide, by not only Turkey but by consecutive U.S. administrations, made me aware of the world of disinformation and injustices around the globe. The Armenian Genocide was the first major genocide of the 20th century, and many people believe that had the Ottoman Turkish been punished for their crime of genocide after WWI, that Hitler would not have ventured his own."

Orange County fails to convict its killer cops

"Ask Mister Republican Man" (Tom Tomorrow/thismodernworld.com)

Pro-Kelly Thomas demonstration (AmberJamie)
As further proof that police cannot be held accountable by our biased (in)justice system: Two of the gang of five murderous Orange County officers who assaulted, threatened, held down, repeatedly beat, Tasered, and finally murdered a helpless, white, mentally disabled, homeless man (Kelly Thomas) were acquitted today.
Jay Cicinelli and Manuel Ramo (OCR)
Plans to try a third officer involved in the gang killing are being aborted. Former Fullerton PD Officer Manuel Ramos was the first active duty officer to ever be charged with murder in the line of duty. With his acquittal -- even after many protests by concerned citizens and the victim's father, Ron Thomas, a former police officer who advocated for his dead son. Were it not for the father's advocacy, the case would have likely been swept under the rug. It is likely no charges would have ever been brought against him or fellow killers (former Officer Jay Cicinelli and Officer Joseph Wolfe) beyond the Office of Internal Affairs in the Department (where they were slapped on the backs in the locker room and called macho by fellow cops for killing a hapless, schizophrenic "bum").

Kelly Thomas after police gang beating (FF)
Even right wing radio hosts thought this beating and murder was excessive by their pro-police standards of vigilante justice. This is to say nothing of the police killings of Latins around Disneyland and other ongoing abuses in Anahiemstan, like police shootings at Occupy sites.

Anaheim, Orange County protests over police killings spark unrest

It will surprise no one that Americans are treated unequally by the police. Law enforcement picks on kids more than adults, the gay more than the straight, Muslims more than Methodists (a lot more than Methodists), antiwar activists more than cowering conformists.

Above all, our punitive police state targets the poor more than the wealthy and blacks and Latinos more than white people.

A case in point: After the 1999 massacre at Columbine High School, a police presence -- including surveillance cameras and metal detectors -- was ratcheted up at schools around the country, particularly in urban areas with largely working-class black and Latin students. It was all to “protect” the kids, it was said.

But at Columbine itself, no metal detector was installed and no heavy police presence intruded on students, no lock downs, no extra guards. The reason was simple. At that high school in the Colorado suburb of Littleton, the mostly well-heeled white families did not want their kids treated like potential felons.

And they had the status and political power to get their way and protect the civil rights of their children. But communities without such clout were less able protect their children from police, less able to push back against the encroachments of police state powers-that-be and their plans. More
