"The Untold History of the U.S." (video)"
Pfc. Sandoval, Pat Macpherson, Wisdom Quarterly; Oliver Stone, Showtime, RT.com
(Episode 3: "The Bomb") "The Untold History of the United States"
Narrated by Oliver Stone, this series of one-hour episodes features human events that at the time went un- or under- reported, yet they crucially shaped the United States' unique and complex history of, what Dr. Martin Luther King was to call, "The greatest purveyor of violence in the world," namely the United States. In a recent poll more than 60% of people worldwide view the USA as the greatest source of terrorism and violence. Might the CIA be responsible for this reputation, or are the Obama, Bush-Cheney, and Nixon administrations largely responsible for it?

How to be "cool" (guide)
Editors, Wisdom Quarterly: American Buddhist Journal (A MODERN GUIDE TO LIFE)
And makes lots of friends. It's easy! Just say, "Hey, 'friend' me, ese! I'm aiming for 10,000 likes!" Always talk with exclamation marks. Oh, and, aim for 10,000 likes. That's a good number of friends to have on social media in case you want to sell girl scout cookies outside of a medical dispensary or something. Get all krazy; like, y b norml? Listen to the s/he devils.

Hey, don't look at me, creep!
You know, first thing you want to do to be "cool" is click on a lot of ads, like especially the ones that say "free." They usually end up costing more. And spending buku bucks is definitely cools-ville, holmes.
Next you want to do all things cell phone/mobile -- tweet like there's no idea too stupid to talk about, and start with "OMG, can't believe she said that!" so ppl will know you're serious. Instagram it, f Facebook tho, dump that. SnapChat it, baby, same corporation.

And get a motto. You can have ours: "Always be good, except when you're bad. Choose to be happy, except when you're sad. Don't quote me on this, don't hold me to that. Should you live a good life? I guess it shall be."
Or how 'bout JC's? "Cut me some slack. I can't make up my mind. Get off of my @$$. I heard y'all the first time. I'll get to it eventually. Just leave me be!"
And never be sarcastic or ironic; peeps hate that cuz u'd have to think 'n stuff, and who's got time for that, yeah?

There's another way. But it's a big hassle. And who needs that? Why not just wake up late, bake, eat things in crinkly plastic bags, and breathe with ya mouth, and blow yer nose later?
Way back, like, in the beforetime, in India, this guy was totally done with the party-n-the-palace life, the naked dancing girls and musicians, the soma and ambrosia, the hoopla and the sports meets...

The Four Noble Truths are all that's needed.
Quest. Why not seek FREEDOM? Be set free by the highest liberating truths.
1. There is a thirst, a TANHA. 2. It gives rise to terrible feelings of dissatisfaction and disappointment, to dookie, to DUKKHA. 3. There is a COOL, cooling, quenching, slaking allayer of all ills, NIRVANA. 4. And there's a way to get to it, a MAGGA. So it is possible to be free.

(UprisingRadio) Join Uprising TV's exciting new campaign to televise Uprising for Free Speech TV. Contribute, get involved, join the revolution...or at least watch it from your couch. We have only until April 30th 2014 to raise the funds to make it possible!

Democracy Now's Amy Goodman agrees: we need Uprising TV
As Pacifica Radio's flagship station in Berkeley (KPFA FM), across from San Francisco, turns 65 on April 15, 2014, a revolutionary thing is happening in Los Angeles (KPFK FM). UPRISING has a crowdfunding campaign on Indie Go Go to televise the show and other Pacifica programming.Radio host and Wisdom Quarterly friend in Pasadena Sonali Kohlhatkar has been active in bringing attention to the liberation of women in Afghanistan (RAWA) as well as covering the most gripping social justice issues of our day. Colbert skyrockets to Letterman's "Late Show"!

Eat it! Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon (scpr.org)
CBS's announcement this morning (Thursday, April 10, 2014) that Stephen Colbert is taking over from David Letterman as the host of "The Late Show" in 2015 trumps all rivals -- including Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy O'Brien, and all the Jameses, like the head of the now shuttered and very controversial CCDD Foundation.

Fallon is funny but not funny enough (DM)
But now it seems the likelihood the show will move to Los Angeles is dim, despite lobbying from L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti. Reasons likely include everything from trying to retain "The Colbert Report" staff on his new show, family, and more.
But here's Southern California Public Radio's Top 10 reasons "The Late Show" is probably staying in New York:
- He doesn't want "Saturday Night Live" to make fun of him the next time they do "The Californians"
- He can't remember which Kardashian is which
- He's already got a great deal living in Jon Stewart's pool house
- The L.A. sun is a problem for his delicately pale skin... More

Pacifica Radio on TV (coming soon)

Buddhist TV?

Watts was transformed by Asia
Uprising may be coming to a TV near all of us. Today host Sonali Kohlhatkar announced that a cable station wants to carry the show turning a radio program into an audio-visual odyssey.
The best part is that this would mean the entire Los Angeles branch of Pacifica, second only to the flagship station in Berkeley (KPFA FM), would be televised. And here all this time we were told THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED. Of course, it may not be. A crowd funding campaign is being launched to make it a reality:
- LISTEN: PLAY NOW (or download)
Who cares? What's so special about Pacifica?

1. Suffering, 2. Thirsting, 3. Cooling
Zen philosopher/entertainer Alan Watts -- who is still played weekly only in L.A. (in what we call "Buddhist Radio," thanks to Roy of Hollywood Tuckman's Thursday-midnight and Sunday-morning broadcasts) -- called Pacifica "the only truly free radio station" anywhere.
It's radical, it sticks it to The Man, and even though it could be bolder and more forceful, it touches on topics no one in mainstream media dares to touch.
Buddhism has already come to television but has never been quite what it could be -- although we can't find the BuddhistChannel.TV on our sets yet.
