PART 2 (see Part 1): famed linguist and political dissident Noam Chomsky exposes the crisis in Israel and the Middle East, unquestioned U.S. support for Israel, states-sponsored Jewish-apartheid, and the BDS movement. "In the Occupied Territories, what Israel is doing is much worse than [racist South African] apartheid," Chomsky says.

"To call it apartheid is a gift to Israel, at least if by 'apartheid' you mean South African-style apartheid. What’s happening in the Occupied Territories is much worse.

"There’s a crucial difference. The South African Nationalists needed the black population. That was their workforce.…The Israeli relationship to the indigenous Palestinians it has corralled into the Occupied Territories is totally different. They just don’t want them. [They want to and are well into exterminating millions of them.] They want them out, or at least in prison."

Pappe: "Racist Apartheid State" with US help

Chomsky has written extensively about the Israel conflict with Palestine for decades. After Israel’s Operation Cast Lead in 2008-2009, Chomsky co-authored the book Gaza in Crisis: Reflections on Israel’s War Against the Palestinians with Israeli scholar Ilan Pappé. (Exeter University Prof. Pappé is one of the leading voices on Israel, calling the U.S./Israel campaign against Palestine an "incremental genocide").

Fifty years ago this month, the United States began raining down bombs on Laos [a landlocked Theravada Buddhist nation in Southeast Asia near Vietnam, China, Thailand, Burma, and Cambodia], in what would become the largest bombing campaign in history.

From June 1964 to March 1973, the United States dropped at least two million tons of bombs on the small, landlocked southeast Asian country. That is the equivalent of one planeload every eight minutes, 24 hours a day, for nine years -- more than was dropped on Germany and Japan during World War II.

This part of the deadly legacy of the U.S. War on Vietnam lives on: In a sense the bombing continues today because of unexploded cluster bombs (scattering bomblets), which had about a 30 percent failure rate when they were thrown from American planes over large swaths of Laos.

Experts estimate that Laos today is littered with as many as 80 million "bombies" or bomblets -- baseball-sized bombs designed into cluster bombs to scatter on impact to kill long after the initial bombing.

Since the initial bombing stopped four decades ago, tens of thousands of people have been injured, maimed, and killed as a result. Democracy Now! is joined by Karen Coates and Jerry Redfern, co-authors of Eternal Harvest: The Legacy of American Bombs in Laos (eternalharvestthebook.com).

False flag operation that made US wars easy

According to General Wesley Clark, the US/military-industrial complex (MIC) has a plan. First invade, conquer, and occupy Iraq -- even if that means completely destroying it, sending it back to the Stone Age, killing everyone there, in what was once called Mesopotamia, a seat of human civilization of biblical significance. Ignored (in US) American scholar

"The United States is a rogue state; it doesn't pay any attention to international law" (Noam Chomsky). The United Nation's Charter bans violence and the threat of violence, but the US/MIC just keeps threatening Iran, Syria, and other sovereign states without regard to international norms or treaties. In fact, it has self-authorized permission to commit genocide, a fact ratified by the International Court, unlike any other country in the world. We (or at least our leaders and their blindly "patriotic" boosters) are the super power, the police state bar none, the greatest source of violence on the planet.
