The confrontation between Russia and Ukraine continued Monday. Ukrainian officials and some journalists say Russia demanded that two Ukrainian naval ships surrender by 5:00 am local time or face an attack. Russian officials denied making any such demands.

What the Kremlin!
US Secretary of State John Kerry is being dispatched to Kiev to reassure the new government of US support. He told ABC's George Stephanopoulos Monday that “all options are on the table” when it comes to steps the US can take to hold Russia accountable for its military movements in Ukraine. Russia's moves in Crimea have challenged Pres. Barack Obama in a way that no other international crisis has so far. More

Bigger, badder NDAA 2014 passed by gov't

It doesn't keep me up at night; my family's fine.
A bigger, badder NDAA 2014 quietly passed the House and Senate, and it is on the way to Obama’s desk.

While everyone is distracted with the holiday festivities, Congress has been hard at work [selling out the citizenry] in the name of national "security."

http://truthaboutprivacy.com/video.php?v=1&cid=102702ffc902fcba818f0763642789&affid=IP-1178&c1=shp-tap-250-07&c2=&c3=Yesterday [Dec. 20, 2013], the 2014 National Defense Authorization Act was fast-tracked through the Senate, with no time for discussion or amendments. As it’s Christmastime and the end of the week, our representatives brought it up and passed it quietly so as to quickly recess for the holidays -- and, no doubt, to avoid protests from the public. The new version of the NDAA had already been quietly passed by the House of Representatives.

It authorizes massive spending, including $527 billion in basic defense spending for the current fiscal year (not including black operations not reported on the regular books), funding for the US/JSOC war on Afghanistan, and funding for nuclear weapons programs.

Under what authority? The new NDAA gives us all the authority we could want.

The indefinite detention allowed by the original NDAA is still here, and it’s actually worse now: There are new provisions that will make it easier for the government to target those who disagree, dissent, or demonstrate.

Section 1071 outlines the creation of the “Conflict Records Research Center,” where the unconstitutionally obtained information the NSA has collected is compiled and shared with the Department of [War]. That information, called “captured records,” can be anything from our phone records, emails, browsing history, or posts on social media sites. 9/11: US plan to invade seven countries (video)

False flag operation that made US wars easy
According to General Wesley Clark, the US/military-industrial complex (MIC) has a plan. First invade, conquer, and occupy Iraq -- even if that means completely destroying it, sending it back to the Stone Age, killing everyone there, in what was once called Mesopotamia, a seat of human civilization of biblical significance. Check. Next go into (under a convenient pretext of our own making; thank you, CIA, that's what you're there for) Afghanistan, Lebanon, Sudan... and ultimately Iran. See video below.

"The United States is a rogue state; it doesn't pay any attention to international law" (Noam Chomsky). The United Nation's Charter bans violence and the threat of violence, but the US/MIC just keeps threatening Iran, Syria, and other sovereign states without regard to international norms or treaties. In fact, it has self-authorized permission to commit genocide, a fact ratified by the International Court, unlike any other country in the world. We (or at least our leaders and their blindly "patriotic" boosters) are the super power, the police state bar none, the greatest source of violence on the planet.
